Strap-On Guide: Harness Fit, Toy Choice, and Care

A strap-on combines a wearable harness or support system with a compatible attachment. A comfortable setup depends on consent, harness fit, toy dimensions, lubricant compatibility, and the type of penetration planned.

Choose Compatible Parts

Confirm the harness opening, attachment method, toy base, weight, and stated use. The harness should remain secure without pinching, numbness, or restricted movement. Choose dimensions based on the receiving person's comfort.

Inspect the Equipment

Before each use, check straps, buckles, seams, rings, attachment points, and the toy surface. Do not use equipment with cracks, tears, tackiness, sharp edges, loose hardware, or an unstable connection. Any detachable toy used anally needs a substantial flared base or reliable retrieval design.

Fit and Communicate

Adjust the empty harness first, then attach the toy and check the fit again. Agree on the activity, depth limits, positions, and signals for slowing or stopping. Apply compatible lubricant and add more if friction increases.

Move With Control

Begin with external contact and shallow, slow movement. Because the wearer cannot directly feel the toy's pressure, verbal feedback is especially important. Avoid sudden changes in angle, force, or depth. Pause if the harness shifts, an attachment loosens, or either person loses balance.

Use Barriers and Clean Every Part

A condom on the attachment can reduce fluid transfer and simplify cleanup. Change it between partners and body openings. Clean the toy and harness according to their separate instructions, then dry all parts completely before storage.

Know When to Stop

Stop for sharp pain, numbness, bleeding, swelling, loss of balance, or equipment failure. Seek medical care for heavy bleeding, severe or worsening pain, fever, fainting, significant injury, or a retained anal object.
