A consistent cleaning routine helps keep silicone sex toys in good condition. The correct method depends on the complete product, especially whether it contains a motor, battery, charging port, adhesive, or mixed materials.
Check Before Cleaning
Read the product care instructions and switch off any powered device. Disconnect charging cables and confirm the stated water-protection guidance. Do not submerge a powered toy unless the manufacturer explicitly allows it.
Wash the Surface
When permitted, wash the silicone surface with warm water and mild, unscented soap. Clean grooves and textured areas gently, without forcing water into seams, buttons, or charging ports. Avoid bleach, abrasive cleaners, and strongly scented household products unless the manufacturer specifically recommends them.
Rinse and Dry Completely
Rinse away all soap residue using the approved method. Pat the toy dry with a clean, lint-free cloth and let it air-dry fully before storage or charging. Moisture left in seams or containers can create odor and make the product harder to keep clean.
Check Lubricant Compatibility
Follow the toy manufacturer's lubricant guidance. Water-based lubricant is commonly compatible with silicone toys, while silicone-based formulas may not suit every silicone product. When guidance is unavailable, test a small hidden area first and stop if the surface changes.
Store Separately
Place the clean, dry toy in its own pouch or container, away from direct sunlight, high heat, dust, and sharp objects. Avoid prolonged contact with other soft materials unless the manufacturer confirms compatibility.
Know When to Replace It
